I figured rather than start a new thread, I'd share my thoughts here.

First of all, the switching is great. I used it in flip flop mode most of the night. The independent mode was really cool for stacking but I just prefer the A/B switching at this point.

The first thing I was looking for was an always-on clean dirty kind of tone. I assumed I would use the no diodes setting for that, but I couldn't quite find what I was looking for. I tried a few things and landed on the Schottky diodes (most compressed) on low gain with the tone way up high. I do a lot of palm muted plucky surfy/Fugazi stuff and the compression was really pleasant and accented my pick attack. Then when I strummed harder there was a nice breakup without any fizz. I really like this setting a lot and will probably keep it as my clean-ish tone.

I'm still messing with the higher gain settings but ive found a nice tight growly overdrive with the Silicon diodes with the gain totally cranked. This setting with both sides stacked together gets into fuzzy distortion territory.

Tomorrow I'm going to see which sounds better, Mini before or after the Third Rail. I tried it after tonight and got some cool results stacked at low bias settings.

I'm really happy with this pedal. I'll try to post some more thoughts tomorrow.

Just played for a couple hours and I have to say, this is in danger of pushing my Mini off the board. I played it through my Traynor Yba-3 today and had the settings pretty similar to last night. I kept the gain super low on the Schottky side and I could play chords clean when I played softly and there was some nice grit when I dug in. I also kept the bass cut on and it really tightened up my sound. Baritone + Yba-3 can mean some crazy low end, which can get flabby, but the third rail totally keeps it in line.

Now I have to figure out what to do with my Mini.

Also I'm gonna need a Clusterfuzz ASAP.

Got my Clusterfuzz in the b/s/t (at UK price, though), but I don't know. Probably a good thing nobody wants it. I really like it, I just currently have no means of trying anything else out and I want to try other things out, dammit.

I know, I probably wouldn't sell it to you for that very reason haha, probably work out cheaper for you to buy new, too! Sucks, cos it cost quite a bit to get it, the only Euro stockist (still) doesn't even have it on his website yet. I emailed him, he was really cool, and he sent one out from Holland. Weird. I guess they're not that popular here yet. You'll love it, no doubt!
