I had a mkII and it was junk...but I have a feeling the QC is really low because a few dudes got them and have been loving them ever since. But many seemed to suffer from excessive clock noise It really seems hit or miss.

It's cause Dunlop has taken over the production of them now and being a large company, i'm sure they can't be bothered to tune them properly.
A bit of a mess with the bias & clock trimmer should get them working properly, by ear it'll take a fair amount of time as opposed to with a Oscilloscope but it should be doable, so it is still a viable option.
