Man, that's a little annoying. Not a fan of having to pay a substantial sum 1/4 of a year before it ships. Taking my gear money now would mean replanning my gear schedule, halting repairs and other projects in the works. I think for the first time, I'm going to just wait until it's available. I'm sure the preorders will sell out, hopefully this doesn't go the way of the scalpers.

I won't personally take anyone's money this early. There's a lot of moving parts here with components with long lead times, etc.
I *will* have a direct pre-order, but not until a few weeks before the pedals ship.
Yeah, I'm alright with direct to builder deposits in built to order stuff. But I'm not a fan of dealer pre orders in general. Joel's a good dude/lumberjack.
As far as the Spectre, it's not hard to find used or new these days. As I'm hoping will be the case with this down the line. The only thing is going to be supply of those delay thingies (technical term).
