hell yeah do it. It's not like you couldn't buy any single one of those back at some point if you wanted to.

Re: Selling pedals to get an amp
It all depends on what you do. My band unfortunately seems to get a lot of gigs where we have to use a provided backline. I've got a rad amp but I never get to use it out. But because my pedals are killer I always sound pretty much the way I want. You can get most amps to sound clean and with a flattish eq, which is all I need.
Music out on all streaming services and bandcamp and what not.

Re: Selling pedals to get an amp
Shows here are "bring your own stuff or you won't play" so I'll definitely will be using the amp if the band happens.
And I think I will sell the pedals, I'm not really crazy about them, but I do like them. I guess I can buy them later any time... or maybe not, discontinued 80s peds are getting more expensive.

Here's a little YBA-3 porn for you... viewtopic.php?f=149&t=2452&start=6435#p1005647neonblack wrote:I'm down to one dirt and one reverb, but I have my dream amp (well my REALISTIC dream amp): a YBA-3 and I'm building myself the perfect guitar and then the perfect cab. So my pedalboard may be less exciting but the rest of my rig makes it worth it.
In short, sell sell sell.
If / when you do get your YBA, you might have to change some stuff in it to make it more guitar friendly (I'm assuming you mean guitar, and not bass guitar). Find a master volume unit if you can, and look me up for what you can change if you're not happy with it. I was less than impressed with my YBA when I first got it, but it's been on my bench for over a month now, and I have it about 95% to the point where I can say, "Duuuuuuuuuuuuuuude...... that's smokin'!". I'm really loving it now.

Re: Selling pedals to get an amp
I've definitely sold pedals I was seldom using in order to fund other gear, particularly gear I couldn't afford without doing so. So Jeremy's advice is solid as hell.jrmy wrote:I'm mostly just being an ass - yes, amps are extremely important. Without them, it's tough to hear what your pedals are doing (unless yer going thru a PA or computer or whatever)... the bottom line in regards to the op was that if they have pedals sitting around gathering dust that could be exchanged for cash to get something necessary, that's totally worth it.

I personally would sell the pedals for the amp. You can always replace pedals or find new ones you love. Amps are way more important IMO.

Re: Selling pedals to get an amp
Shortly before joining ILF, I made a radical change in amp platform which facilitated a sell-off of pedals I had cherry picked for the old amp.
I went from a Master Volume, 100w SF Fender, 6L6GC loaded amp with ss rectifier
...to a Non-Master 50W Selmer EL34 amp with gz34 tube rectifier.
It changed how I cascade gain stages, shop for dirt pedals...and play guitars, in general.
All because I found my #1 amp; the cornerstone from which I built upon.
Before adopting that philosophy I had been putting cart before the horse.
So been there, done that. Worth it. Sell off whatever can be repurchased to fund a fertile plot for personal growth.

This. If you don't use em anyway, there's no point to hold to em. Besides, I doubt any of those peds will be hard to just buy again if you do end up missing em...Right?tashiattack wrote:sell them pedals.
nothing is more satisfying than a good sounding amp.

Sell the pedals.
First thing you should do is start a stealth spam thread on a messageboard about them. Just ask some random question or solicit advice about selling them, whatever, just be sure to list what you've got. That way you're sure to get as many views as possible and let as many as possible know what you've got before you actually list them in the spam section. Then it's double spam thread win!

Old Traynor? I would. In a heartbeat. But come from the headspace of being able to work on them.. if it's in inoperable condition that's potentially a touch steep. If it works fine it's a good deal.ThurberMingus wrote:Should I buy this Traynor Mark 3 on my CL for $250?
Regarding OP, yeah, Bassmans are excellent amps too. Unless it's crazy niche or OOP stuff, pedals are replenishable. The old amps are only getting older (not a bad thing IMO).

You got me.
Will try to sell them locally though.
So anyone in the SD area?

Realistically you're not going to get the moon and the stars for those pedals.
Depends on what you need and how it fits in your budget.
Two of those pedals are among my personal favorites with a Bassman to boot.

Re: Selling pedals to get an amp
I would do it,
a good amp is pretty sweet to have
really changes your perspective on how you use pedals and everything else
Trying to pair my signal chain down currently to a good solid board, a good amp/cab, and a few good guitars well worth it,

My board isn't too big right now (PT-2) but I'd like to cut back or use no pedals.waltdogg wrote:I wouldn't use any pedals if I could. Sell those pedals and any others you have, buy THREE Bassmans.
