So i am driving back to work after picking up lunch yesterday and i am at a red light. just before the light turns green a UPS truck, the regular delivery ones, turn right into the lane i am in.
HE HAD THE BACK DOOR OF THE TRUCK WIDE OPEN!!!
i spead up to him to tell him and all he said was OH FUCK and pulled over!!!!
all i could think of was some poor guys pedal, amp or guitar bouncing down the street...
I made a post about the crappiness of UPS/Canada Post a while back... I'm working on a '66 Mustang that I bought from a dude out in Georgia. By the time it arrived, there was a HUGE crack in the side of it, the box was severely dented and there was bubble wrap stuck in the crack, which is a sure fire sign of mistreatment after the body had been packaged. I used to work in shipping/receiving and I can tell you that there is definitely no love for other ppl's stuff in that industry. Most times, things get delivered safely but on the rare occasion when it's not, it's usually not just a small issue.

Good thing I went with a box for your package then. I almost through it in an envelope thinking "eh it's boss, the thing is more durable than the truck driving it."
I wish the Pony Express was still around. They'd probably be the safest way to send things. Except for them darn injin raids.

My wife works in the jewelry dept. of JCPenney in Carolina Place mall. The regional manager comes by every 3-4 weeks to check on things. This time, he arrived to find a UPS package left outside the door, like outside outside, not even in the little vestibule (which would still be bad).
So the visiting regional manager picks it up and walks to the counter, opens it, and inside was a special order, $15,000 engagement ring. They have people there at like 4AM to receive packages and they're open til 9PM. When did this UPS guy drop off the package that he couldn't actually get it signed for? Anyway the JCP department was told that UPS fired the guy as a result. I mean I know mistakes happen but shit, man, pay attention.
