Best Devi Pedal for Post-Metal?

I'm looking to get a Devi fuzz pedal but they all look so good I don't know what to get. I'm working on a lot of Post-Metal stuff so what would be best for that? Stuff like ISIS, Pelican, Mouth of the Architect, Red Sparowes, Russian Circles, etc...

Cutting Bass and Mid-Heavy is my guess. I love all the bands you mentioned, but I don't know what specific Devi would capture that style. Torn's Peaker is always a good choice, though the White Spider is also good.

Or if you have the cash get a shoegazer, Which is both.

Devi's stuff works quite well with the lower end, so I would also suggest tuning lower and using a larger gauge of strings. That also brings out some of the thicker sounds you're looking for.

Ha, the shoegazer is the one I really want but I don't know if I can afford it. It's like $200 and I have been living on Ramen for a long time already just to have the little cash I have right now.

Right now I'm working with 2 guitars in 9s and 10s in E Standard and Eb Standard. I'm buying an 8 string in October though - when I will finally have money again - so there won't be any problems with getting a lower sound.

Good things come to those who wait. I saved up for an entire year to get my first pedal, and couldn't have been happier.

I find the tone of all of those bands different enough that I'm sure any iteration would work.

For example:
MOTA uses Ratts to push modded Sovtek migs
ISIS, for the longest time used a recto pre into solid state power amps, they now use aluminum guitars into VHTs
Mike from Russian Circles uses TS-varients, including an OCD, and a MXR micro amp

Very little fuzz to be found actually.

I guess my point is, don't worry about what they use and just write some good music, but the Year of the Rat looks like it'd be right up your alley if I had to pick and it's $95

As a rule of thumb, the sodameiser and some of it's variants tend to beef up the low end where as the others seem to be treble heavy

Well looks like I'm getting a Shoegazer after all. I found one for $150 and couldn't pass it up. I'll be eating more ramen noodles for a while but totally worth it. Thanks everyone.

idk, for the bands you listed i wouldn't suggest a devi at all. mind you, i love some devi fx, but nothing i have ever heard made me think of those bands.

but if i had to pick i'd say the Cherry Pop or Hyperion

and those are some of my favorite bands by the way.

If you want to go devi again, you could always get one of several kits she sells & build it yourself/get someone here to do it for you. They come with the board+components...all off-board parts will still be needed.
