Noise Pop?

Post by daydreamer »

I imainge a bunch of people here are into this kinda stuff, due to it's fuzzy, fuzzy noise-y-ness. My fav noise poppers are probably No Age, JAMC, Japandroids, Sic Alps, and maybe even Wavves

Now sir, you're speaking my language.

No MBV? Fuck Loveless...

Actually most of those early shoegaze-y bands had pop songs. Lilys and The Siwrlies definitely fall in there, and early Slowdive/Pumpkin Fairies...
Black Tambourine are seminal.

As for this decade, I'm not a fan of many except for The Pains of Being Pure at Heart.

And The Manhattan Love Suicides

I usually group crash pop and noise pop together, in which case,
Crayon

Boyracer

I could go on for days...
:yay:

I didn't know this band fell under Noise pop, I'm obsessed with post-nothing, it's amazing. It's funny that they sound way bigger than some five or six piece bands i listen to with only two dudes.

It's a bit of a stretch, maybe they are more garage rock, but I think they've got a sort of noise-y feel and sound. I really like MBV's early stuff too, my favorite EP of theirs is probably Strawberry Wine, Never Say Goodbye is such a good song. Sounds almost nothing like Loveless bbut is no less awesome

My Fave MBV would probaby be the Feed Me With Your Kiss and You Made Me Realise eps. Also love the first 2 Ride ep's - Chelsea Girl live was one of my seminal moments. Also Ichabod and I by The Boo radleys was great, and The Telescopes have put out some amazing stuff over the past 20 odd years.
buncha stuff...

does garagey stuff work? i'm in love with Charlie & The Moonhearts....

Epsilons as well.

Orange County has a rad surf/garage scene going on.

the epsilons broke up.
