Tremolessence

you've piqued my interest.

One other little project is to change up the Tremolessence just a bit... I want to add soft touch switching for it and move the switch right down to the bottom of the box. The Tremolessence will be the next pedal we make available like the minis, in powder coated and screen printed boxes with pcbs assembled for me.

a switch at the bottom of the box like the minirrr is really sweet! (is the Cleanness gonna get this too?)
unfortunately all the youtube demos i found are of the 3 knob version.
it's now a 5 knob version.

what shapes do the shape go through? sine, triangle & square? any symmetry options?
are the toggles only to change the speed range?

I can answer one of those! The switch on the left is switches the shape of the wave from square to triangle, which the shape knob then further modifies. The other switch is the speed toggle. Oh and FWIW, best tremolo ever.

Yeah Kev, I've been thinking of going that route with all the pedals. It was easy with the miniberators since they don't have a battery but I still want to keep the battery option for the other pedals. The soft touch switching makes it easy for the other pedals as only 2 wires are needed for the stomp switch. Plus the other benefits of that switching style.

The Tremolessence does 2 main waveforms, triangle and square, but the shape control lets you move those shapes around and turn the triangle waveform into ramp up and down or sawtooth, depending on what word you like, and the square wave into little blips of audio of little blips of silence.

Jordan's got it right, one toggle to choose between square or triangle and one toggle to choose between 3 different rate settings. And thanks!

yeah i think the movement of the switch location is almost a necessity, it is too close to the knobs... Love the trem but that switch location really bugs me, same as my timmy... i have become good at targeting the switches at home but live i'm not sure i could do it properly.

Great pedal though.

Yeah it's a little close for sure... it ain't easy fitting 5 knobs and 2 switches in a box that size! I could never move the switch to the bottom without changing the switching style though, it would be impossible to run 9 wires to the stomp switch over or under the battery. I'd love to just leave the battery right out of the picture!

The battery issue is complicated and I ponder it a lot... my big worry is that losing the batteries will alienate some customers... I just don't know how many customers are relying on batteries or how many customers just couldn't care less. I also wonder if it matters to the stores, like do they prefer a pedal has a battery in it for customers to test or are they fine with handing out a power supply with the pedal for testing? To me that seems easy and obvious and the best way to test pedals anyway, hand them a pedal and an adapter.

i don't use batteries if I can avoid it..I always forget to unplug the pedal and drain the battery...which gets expensive..go green and skip batteries

If I have to choose between a battery or a pedal with room for more goodies or a smaller foot print on my pedalboard I choose the latter. Batteries are a pain in the ass and get expensive quick. My two cents.

even moog here in mtl relies heavily on its online volume.
and all your pedals are all on hold and sold before they even arrive in stock.

when i go to canada to visit my parents i like to sit in the 7 acre forest of a back yard with my les paul, a pignose, and a few pedals!

so if there were no battery clips there would be no electric forest jamz...

otherwise i would not use batteries...
