The VS Thread: Blackout Muskett vs. TeamAwesome Fuzz Machine

Post by steevdeadman »

Ok... This is the deal... I'm TORN between these two pedals. I need a medium/high gain fuzz to compliment my 33 and Shiva... These two are the sounds that I really like... (Note, this will be used on bass not guitar, but guitarist can chime in :))

Things I like about each:

Musket: Muffish and it's got a pregain.

TAFM: Cleanish blend and a character switch.

Help me out, I need to know where to spend my money.... Hook a brother up with some opinions!

C'mon, man - who are you asking here? Really, now.

You pretty much summed it up.

I'd go with the musket, but I'm a guitar player. It's a green muff with complete control over the tone
Plus blackout effectors customer service is top notch.

JRM. You make a good point.. :-D Alas, board space is constraining me to one or the other... Still, as much as I need a muff sound on my board, that clean blend of the TAFM keeps calling me back... :whoa:

It already has a clean blend, that is where my heart is... If it's Clean Blend vs. Pregain, I think you might win this fight, NOW HURRY UP AND MAKE PEDALS MAN BEFORE I CHANGE MY MIND!

Personally for bass Id go for the TAFM...The general character of the pedal is a little more unique than the Musket (which I love nevertheless) and the clean blend is genius on bass.
buncha stuff...

I've actually made my mind up and the winner of this fight is...

TEAM AWESOME FUZZ MACHINE!

The clean blend wins again for the bass playing public :)

Every bass player should have a muff variant. That's my 2P for ya.

I say the clean blend can suck it. The Musket sounds amazing on bass, no need for a blend.
