in the futile attempt to narrow down the huge list of pedals I want to aquire there is the pair of a catalinbread heliotrope and copilot antenna. Judging by the demos I've seen both sound a little alike, even though they are supposed to do very different things. Confusing?
Maybe someone has played both and can tell me if they really sound alike or if they do completely different things and I'm deaf. If they sound alike maybe anyone can recommend one of the two?
I do hear a small difference, and I still want em both of em. But until now I'm not convinced both are necessary in one effect chain.
Well the Antenna is less expensive than the Heliotrope, so if they both sound the same go with the less expensive option! Also, the Antenna2 has extra LFO controls, and it's only a bit more expensive than the Heliotrope.
Do you like listening to homemade music? Me too. Why don't you try one of mine?

Id go with the Antenna 2, why? Well extra controls for not too much more than the 'trope and I like supporting ILF builders. If a situation were to arise where I couldn't decide between two pedals and one was ILF and the other not I'd go with ILF 90% of the time. Then ifni didn't like it it's always easier to flip

I have the Antenna2. There's a bit of a learning curve but you can get ridiculous sounds if you just plug and play. If you wanna tune it up to what you hear in your head, then it's gonna take a minute.
But honestly, I love the sound of the pedal and I think it's a fantastic little gadget. There's a lot of sounds in it and it does the bitcrusher/radical ring modulator thing really, really well.. and with its own character.
