DMM Blend?

so i just noticed a weird thing w/ my deluxe memory man blend control not completely going 100% clean...like when the blend knob is cranked all the way to the left (should be all clean dry signal), you can still hear a little delay....is more noticeable the more you crank the level....i never noticed this before and have had this pedal for a couple years....any ideas????

just a little bleed, no worries. why would you need to use it totally clean anyways?

well its not really a problem, just something i noticed today that i am pretty sure didnt used to happen
i usually just leave the DMM on all the time, use the level to set the overall volume, then roll the blend for delays or no delays.

How old is it? I just ask incase it's a really old unit and the electros are going.

Second... the trimmers have been knocked slightly out of alignment.. in which case don't mess with them and take it to a tech if you want it sorted.

its pretty new version...i think i bought it new in like 04-05?

No worries Yeah the age isn't an issue, if it was like 20-30 years then they might be going, not 5-6 years.

If you want to send it somewhere for a re-cal, Ron Neely is the EHX man, that or any good tech with an oscilloscope and knowledge of EHX Calibrations but if it doesn't bother you, it's not gunna cause a problem.

it's funny you started this thread, i recently picked up a DMM and just spend the past weekend playing with it clean through my bassman and yeah, i got the same thing, did some research to find that a lot of "bleed" and "distortion" in the signal is something that DMM users like....??? i suppose, but the more i did the more it sounded like YES it probably needs a tuneup.....

analogman's website explains how he could do all the tweaking to make it cleaner and tighten up the bleed, can also add more delay time and expression control etc.... set you back about $120-150 but if i plan on keeping this thing i just may do it....

oh wow, didnt know about the analogman mod....shit might havta throw my hat in the pool at some point. 800-900ms? exp control?

i love my dmm it sounds so creamy and dreamy, thats why i just leave it on all the time. i thought it could be replaced by other delays before.....i was foolish.

ive also never really noticed some of the things analogman is talking about as far as the impendance and distortion....i overload the shit outta mine and it sounds wonderful and clear.

Mine sounds good when I turn my guitar volume low and use lesser output pickups.... But mine does distort quite a bit, you may have been one of the lucky ones that landed good ICs... But when played clean through my bassman it's the sort of guitar tone corksniffers poop themselves over, quite heavenly....

DMM is a classic for good reason....
