...I'm kinda like fuck this movie. Are they really that desperate for gay subject matter that they have to go and fucking REWRITE peoples lives as if they were gay? This type of shit is getting really old. I was initially interested in the movie (thats another thing, can we quit calling everything a film? are people really that insecure and egotistic that they have to refer to to every little piece of entertainment as art?) because it was about dalis life...specifically his formative years and the events that led to his development into the creative genius that he was. But it wasnt, it was a cheap piece of sexual propaganda. This kind of thing may have been shocking 20-30 years ago when some people may have GIVEN A FUCK but this is 2010...the shock value of sexual tabboos is such a moot point and an even more tired unimaginative subject. Especially when its about someone who led such a rich and interesting life. Theres a million different ways to make a movie about dali, a man with so many facets to his personality and they pull out some old bullshit. He wasnt even gay either. If you want to make a movie as an excuse for gay men everywhere to get to watch the guy from twilight kiss another man...thats fine, but call it "the guy from twilight kisses another guy for 2 hours". Fuck paul morrison and motherFUCK Phillipa Gosslet.
