ACOUSTIC GUITAR - suggest me a decent cheap one
so basically.. i have 2 shitty acoustics.
i dont play acoustic all the time but id like a decent one - an electric acoustic with a cutaway is preferred.
people are going to say, what do you want to play or what is cheap - ideally itll sound.. fairly warm and woody but nothing specific.. what is cheap.. idk.. under 500? i probably wouldnt be willing to spend more than that..the cheaper the better but like i said, i want something decent.
any suggestions are welcome.. and if its not worth spending 500 because it wont be decent, let me know.

im kind of leaning towards this one...

but yeah, keep on suggesting and ill look into everything.
the seagull s6 seems really popular and well priced from what i remember. i dont think it had a cut away though. the cut away is more important than being electric.
thanks!

Recording King!!!
I love mine so much, and the low end is better than most martins in general.

I see 70s Takamines on CL all the time. They're pretty good, MIJ, and the electronics can be nice too. All that for under $200.

try to find a used tacoma. I almost bought one (twice) that retailed for $1000 was $400 used. I liked it more than my friend's Martin.

Go to the store and try a bunch out!
When you play THE ONE, you'll know it.
At least, that's how I shop for acoustics.

Takamines are decent, but you can't beat Seagulls for prince and quality. To my ears, they have a gentler but better tone.
ILF pedals: DE Eye of God, Mellowtone Wolf Computer, Mellowtone Singing Tree LE, Fuzzhugger Arc Flash Oscillator, DSc Miniberator, Mysterious J boost/cut/tremolo pedal

i'm gonna have to agree with NewarkWilder
don't buy an acoustic online, try and buy them in person
that's what i had to do with my acoustic, and i was able to pick the most stunning one out of all the other guitars that was just exactly like it
just sayin. but you know, whatever is most convenient for you works

ben, go with a seagull. they have ones with cut-aways and pick ups built in. the ones with out are cheaper and you can get a sound hole pick up for pretty cheap...
i have a s12+ with cherry back and sides a maple neck and a cedar top and it is great. big soft and warm! my cosuin has a m6 i think. that one has mahogany back and sides.
the seagulls are very consistant so i would not be too scared of ordering one online, but if you have a guitar center near you they are dealers so you might want to play some first....
have a great day!

have a look into the takamine (spelling?) acoustic guitars, I've played a few and they've all been really nice (and are pretty cheap!)

Hmm...guess I'll stop lurking here.
Seagulls are excellent guitars for the money, but I'd also look at the Yamaha F series acoustics. They are probably the best value under 500 dollars. The acoustic forum over at HC raves about them (ie don't take my word for it).
