word! glad to see other peeps gettin their 202 on! any tips/tricks to pass along? its seem to be able to do a few things that my 404 can't and the fx sound awesome, the delay is mad glitchy when u turn the control knob.

do u by any chance have the memory card for it?
i wasnt plannin on gettin one but i looked it up online for kicks (ebay seems to be the only spot) and the 4mb is like 80 dollars  the 2mb is only like 30 but still.
i was also readin the manual just now and it seems the memory card banks are extremely limited, doesnt make much sense to get one (doesnt seem to add that much flexible except for longer sampling time) esp since the card is about what i paid for the box alone (had to haggle the dude at GC down a bit, they wanted 140 for it).

im gunna run drums galore thru this badboy (among other things as well).
now i just need to get my mitts on a 303

using the delay/pitch with breaks to make glitchy beats is why i love this thing so much! i use it purely to sample stuff from a handytrax turntable. :joy:

i don't have the memory card nor have i been able to track one down (without having to buy another sp202)... so i just use pure lo-fi sampling and one or two in "standard" this allows me to fill both banks up. i only seem to get two or three good 2-3 second samples if i go the hi-fi route.

nice, i think the 303 is like the best of both worlds. many mor efeatures (to me resampling is huge on these things), fx and flexibility like the 404, but ive heard the 303 has a nice grimey sound to it as well. lookin to cop me one at some point.
as for the cards, there is a 4mb limit. they must be 5 volts tho (not 3.3V, which is what the 303 takes), i guess these types of cards are hard to come by (hence the insane price). like i said before the extra memory doesnt really seem to make much of a difference for the 202. u can only play one pad at a time on the memory card banks, C/D (one pad takes up 3 voices?!?!) and u cant use most or any effects on them. def some weird type shit. i think ill be happy w/ it just the way it is.

ya i could really see myself using the delay, pitch and time a lot to fuck up soundz, plus its just got a nice warm lofi sound to it in general.

the fact they call it "hi fi" is kinda funny i think. the manual says that "hifi" is like 31.25 hz sampling freq...not even 44.1. lofi 2 is 3.91 hz  i didnt get this machine for sound clarity tho :thumb:....theres suppose to be like 32 seconds (16 in stereo) when sampling hifi, are u sampling stereo or mono? i think 32 secs at minimum is enough for me to bounce a couple breaks/loops at a time. i also plan on doing lots of bouncing back and forth between my 202 and 404.

i tend to sample in mono to avoid panning issues and it also allows more flexibility with how many pads/effects you can use at once. there is a trick to getting 2 effects to run at once on 2 different loops (i.e. throw on a melody loop then drums while being able to manipulate the delay knob on the drums with both set to the same pitch) i've probably spent way too much time with mine.

p.s. gotta give mad love to the reverse feature!

yes the instant reverse feature is tight! pretty sure it doesnt work like that on the 404 (u gotta retrigger the sample after you hit reverse, could be wrong tho).
wish u could somehow retrigger the sample from the beginning by hittin the pad while the pad is already playing tho, instead of hitting it twice. whatever, not complaining.

n about the effects, thats sick! another thing the 404 doesnt do im pretty sure. i just figured out if u press pitch and time it lowers the pitch w/o changing the tempo. lovin this little box, its so simple its addictive. i love limitations

this is gunna be making the trip home with me for thanksgiving here.

I'd love to have one of these... too bad I can't find one for a good price!

Not to mention, the SM cards are a bitch.

I've only recently started using it as a sampler. I had been using it as a loop bank for live preformances.
