Honestly, I'd just start with the Bends. When the feedback washes in at the beginning of Planet Telex, it is orgasmic. Goddamn do I love that fucking album. Then you'll get OK Computer, then Kid A .... :)

Or did you want specific song recommendations first?

I got hooked on Exit Music (for a Film), Idioteque, Just, and Paranoid Android. When I'd first heard those songs, everything about them was just so completely fucking new to me, especially Paranoid Android.

Now I know how all that shit is done and I still love it.
Those are songs, btw, not albums. Of course, my FAVORITE song by Radiohead has got to be Let Down. It just hits home, really.
well i guess, but i just don't know.

In no particular order...

Pablo Honey, The Bends, OK Computer :thumb:

Alright here are my individual song recommendations

Quite possibly my favorite radiohead song, period

one of the creepiest songs ever made. From 3:20 on :omg:

If you want some earlier stuff, this is by far the best song on Pablo Honey, IMHO

For newer stuff, here's probably my favorite:

For experimental stuff, this is great:

This performance of Fake Plastic Trees from The Bends gets me every time. Massive goosebumps.

Polyethylene (parts 1 & 2) is an OK Computer-era B-side, so my suggestion is to get OK Computer, possibly even the expanded reissue of it, seeing as that comes with all the B-sides as well. Failing that, The Bends is probably the most accessible starting point.

This is the performance that got me into them:

People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint, it's more like a big ball of wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey... stuff.

Ok computer is good to start, some phenomenal stuff on there. I really like Hail to the Thief as well. Oh hell, ok I like all they're stuff haha. But I really like the direction they went starting with ok computer more than they're earlier stuff.

I really like Kid A. Especially after reading chuck klosterman claimed it was a precognition of 9-11. :omg:

I'm gonna throw the damn wrench and say that you should check out Hail to the Thief. I don't know why it always got a shit rap from everyone. Full of nice guitar work, interesting arrangements... it's good. So is OK Computer. Goddamn OK Computer is good!

If you're thinking single tracks (Sort of a career sampler)...

Paranoid Android
Planet Telex
My Iron Lung
There There
Go To Sleep
Airbag
Electioneering
2+2=5
Polyethylene
Bodysnatchers
Weird Fishes/Arpeggi
Punch Up at a Wedding
15 Step
No Surprises
Karma Police
Lucky

That'll give a range.

And I know... 3 albums aren't accounted for. To me, they're just :idk: :idk: :idk:
Dude, a ball pit is not... weren't you ever a little kid? Ya know, a ball pit, with the plastic balls and you'd jump in it... it's not a gay bar!

Wow. shit.

Go with Amnesiac > Kid A > In Rainbows

Then do OKC > Hail TTT if you want more

I'd rather spend my money on pedals, alcohol, sex or food, than buying their old stuff again.

I just reeeeeeally don't get all the dingdong about The Bends... It's very boring to me. Very nineteenninetyfivebooooooring.

EDIT:

I didn't know this, though:

Decompression sickness (DCS; also historically or colloquially known as divers' disease, the bends or caisson disease)

And shit... Kid A is almost ten years old.... Tha kinda makes me wanna redo my post... but wth.

(Amnesiac.)
