I'm trying to write vocal melodies and there is a song that is just sitting right. Everything I try feels wrong, but i can't hear what direction it wants to go in, just all the directions it doesn't want to go in.

That’s quarter-assed at best.
I sent an email to a rando on CL yesterday, because I just liked their idea for a band and wanted to tell them so and encourage them, despite being too far away to participate. Real weirdo move, but we had a pleasant and positive back and forth for a bit about music and bands, so that was nice
With six kids and running a business life I'm often not able to really pick my head up and check on myself but also....all the busyness is rewarding fun stuff so it's great. The Quints start middle school in August and the baby is going to 4th so that will bring changes.....five kids going through middle school issues lol....but in eight years it sounds like I'll be able to rest so until then I'm pounding b12 vitamins, listening to ska, doing as much as I can for the kids while trying to soak it all in.
Didn't melt during the 4th of July weekend/week's end, but saw lots of insane beer drinkin' & marathon sittin' outdoors by jaybirdin' septuagenarians, kids fishing Mark Twain style, and a small fluffy dog carted around in a custom prairie wagon.

Update: It's still going nowhere.

Also, mebbe it's just supposed to be an instrumental.........?
Doing pretty good. Being on holiday reminds me I should really set some time aside to record, feels nice to be excited about that
