Anybody who got the DL4 Mark IIc+?

Post by qersty »

I don't need a new delay pedal I don't need a new delay pedal
Yet again I'm gawking over it. Kinda finally getting the idea of it after being sceptical. Love that it has reverb built in. Dedicated reverb pedz? No! FX with reverb built in? Sign me up!

Can anybody tell if it's any good though? I know there is the "finally a dl4 that isn't dogshit" but is it notably more than that? I have actualy never played a DL4 but I have dug the guys who played them.

Is it any good? Are there funner fish in the sea? They are starting to pop up used for half-decent prices but that is also almost the price of a fancy fuzz pedal!

There's allegedly some minor issues, in particular lots of people are complaining that the taper on the mix knob is super wonky :idk:

Would like to hear impressions from ILFers instead of relying on dubious TGP info, though.

I plan to pick one up, but definitely in the 'wait for firmware updates and cheaper used prices' camp for now.

oh shit id rather hang myself than deal with a wonky taper on a mix knob!

I definetly with you on waiting for the used prices to get good. It will be a fun game to see if they plummet or just stay being 2/3 of MSRP

The new delay algorithms along with the reverb is actually really awesome. I’ve been really digging it so far.
My only gripe is I’m not 100% sure about the switches when it comes to looping. I find it hard to stomp in a clean loop pattern.
I’ve also been using the boomerang for so long so that could also be it.

I may in the near future look into modding the switches on the MKII like I did the original, but that being said I don’t get the impression they’ll take a shit like the MKI.

like just the feel or are they positioned weird? I dig the idea that the looper is always accessible with midi. which reminds me of how i will never get down to using midi probably

Just the feel of the switches. I still wish they added another switch to toggle between delays and looper. But that’s just a minor gripe.

This might be a stupid question but the reason I can't vibe with the original DL4 is that it seems based on using presets - that is, whenever I switch delay types all the settings revert to wherever they were before and I get totally lost. Obviously this isn't an impediment to a lot of people but it is to me. I assume the new one functions similarly - am I right?

I have one.

There's lots of pissing an moaning at tgp, but its the best all rounder I've played.

Not the most amazing sounding delay I've ever heard (still pretty good!), but it's usefulness makes up for it.
