Stereo in/out pitch shifter
Lookin for a stereo in and out pitch shifter. Looking at the pitch factor, which I had before but they are huge and pricey as well as I wouldn’t mind trying something new.
The deal is it’s goin in two different chains to two different amps. Each side will be in an individual bypass looper that way I can select which amp is getting the pitch shifting (bass for more harmonies/octaves and what not, guitar for them glitchy, pitchy delays, both for wall of shit.
Have been outta the scene for a while now and am just gettin back to it and have no idea if there are any options I’m missin

High end - GT-1000 Core, HX Stomp
Mid - TC Brainwaves, Hedra, M9
Low - M5, Zoom Multistomp, Behringer FX600
It sounds like two different pitch pedals might work better for you though, and give you more control. Also Hedra only has a single TRS input.

Yeah I mean you could get two boss pitch shifters (say a PS-6 for bass and PS-3 for guitar) and it'd still be cheaper and less space-consuming than a pitchfactor with the bonus of being able to have each channel with completely different settings.
The H9 would be another option since it's small-ish and you you can easily scroll presets, but that's pricey too.

I think the new-ish EHX deluxe Pitchfork thing may have added some intelligent harmony stuff.
Dunno, still stuck on the Pitch Factor. Though I am mildly but increasingly interested in the Helix/HX platform, and the former Digitech digital team’s work on the pitch side of things is a very big factor.

Re: Stereo in/out pitch shifter
Regarding multiples, whoismarykelly (where'dja go?) did something similar (split guitar/bass rig), so here's the convo from 2019 I found:
I love the Pitchfactor, as well, but if there's a $100 shifter you like, how could you go wrong with two of em?
Also I have not heard stellar reports on the Brainwaves (in particular the sounds, let alone the TC quality control issues), and I'm not particular to EHX QC, either, so....
Most of the new stereo-friendly pitch pedals are delay+pitch boxes, so that is also a little frustrating for your particular cause....or maybe not?

routing please?
also, am I doing the math that you can go up or down 8 octaves?

I can't imagine having 2 Super Shifters (et al) on either side of the stereo field (as others have already said) would ever be a bad thing, right?whoismarykelly wrote:The multiples thing definitely spilled into my live boards from pretty much wanting presets at home from pedals that didn't have presets.$harkToootth wrote:@Whoismarykelly -> Always a fan of your boards. I love that you're not afraid to go big, and that you get multiples. I think you posted that once how, "It's a matter of knowing what I like and getting more of it." Huge Pitchfork fan here too (I have other pitch shifters but that is usually the go to for me).
In this case I've got pitch forks that do momentary octave up (right next to the raptio for glitch/pitch stabs) and m2 harmony for a couple really dissonant parts where I cant actually play the chord necessary. Then I've got PS5s doing slow trem arm down an octave for pitch drops and the flutter mode going up 2 octaves for fake flutters. Those stemmed from not being able to find a baritone that had a trem and would stay in tune through serious abuse. I could probably get by with less but I just don't want to change settings mid set.

Re: Stereo in/out pitch shifter
For a multiple pitch device approach, the fact that the location in the signal chain matters gives this a lot of support. Whammy and intelligent harmony is happier early in the chain, whereas detune, Rainbow Machine-ish chromatic stuff, and shimmer and Crystals do fine or better later.
I’ll put it this way—I already had a big Eventide rack harmonizer when I got my Pitch Factor. I wanted to be able to do a similar level of pitch manipulation early in the signal chain.

Re: Stereo in/out pitch shifter
Dooooood I remember that post from back in the day which is fucked up cause it was totally like yesterday. That board slaps and I’m in a similar spot now. I was trying to keep this hella simple on the pedal side of things but I’m back on the shit now so it’s a must.
I’ve tried a lot of pitchy bois in my days and the pitchfactor stands out with its fun wacky rhythmic effects that I think may shine in the bass amp while the guitar amp is a dry guy. That’s why I am leaning towards that even tho two independent pitch pedals sound like the better idea. May jus be lookin for something new for that new pedal inspiration.
Here’s what I’ve had-
Whammy 4
3 boss ps3
Pitch factor
-red panda particle v2 (rad hut didn’t give it enough time (maybe I should try again?)
Def some other stuff in there, like at least 2 more that I can’t recall
Here’s what I have currently
Ehx canyon (octave mode)
-bitquest (don’t like the fluttery pItch shift for this application)
-Broken rainbow machine (use strictly for detune and that magic switch, when it works)
-Boss ps5 that’s kinda fucked up but works but have honestly only used the flutter/t arm effect since I got it so don’t know if the other ones are any tight.
-Bass micro synth for octaves but it ain’t jivin
-ct5 (that I lusted after since they came out and have never been so disappointed with a pedal, didn’t realize that it’s mostly loop based even after 45 demos thinkin “damn, I wanna fuck shit up with this and it’s so cool and…”. So yea, ain’t jivin. Sick in the desk as out board tho
If you have any suggestions with what I have currently or wanna throw out any other options lease do. Really just want something new I think and want to be able to do wacky things and I wanna get rid of this ct5 for something I’ll use

If you're thinking about Red Panda, the Raster might be more what you're looking for.

Good point on the Raster.
Also, if you haven’t tried the alternate “Nightly” firmware for the CT5, you should try it before shuffling it along. Maybe not your ultimate pitch pedal, but one of the new modes may work for you.

Re: Stereo in/out pitch shifter
tbh i think the pitchfactor goes undefeated. Raster2 comes close but still not the same beast. Both do a lot og things but different things. I'm almost considering a 2nd PF but then I would have to learn how to use midi with em efficiently

I’ve tried 2 computers to get the nightly and both can’t “find the driver” had my buddy who is a computer guy look into it and he couldn’t figure it out either
