What pedals have you owned multiple times?

Post by Blood_mountain »

I just got a Fairfield Accountant for the second time, and was thinking of all the pedals I’ve owned more than once. Whether you think you don’t need something anymore and then miss it or sacrifice one pedal to obtain another that you’re gassing over, there seem to be situations (in my experience anyway) where I move something along and then end up wanting to give it another shot down the road.
I’ve owned the Accountant twice, Digitech Freqout twice, Cooper FX Gen Loss twice (three times if you count the CBA/Cooper version in between), Fairfield Shallow Water twice, OBNE Dweller twice, and soon the SSBS Mini twice.
Am I indecisive or is this a somewhat common experience?

EAE Model feT twice and Caroline Meteore twice and sold all 4. Probably going to be 3 times for the Model feT soon. The Meteore 2nd try was just a case of me forgetting why I sold it in the first place. Love the demos and how others use it but just can't make it work for me.

Malekko Ekko 616 - bought one used, sold it. Bought another one used, kept it.

Boss OC-2 - bought two used, sold both, want another one or a MXR Bass Octave

Whetstone Phaser - bought two used, flipped both. It’s so cool but I don’t even really use a phaser that much.

Rat - bought a big box reissue, had a 308 chip installed, flipped it. Have now bought a vintage Turbo Rat and an OG 80’s Rat, no plans to sell either.

Currently considering buying a Earthquaker Data Corrupter after I sold one a few years ago.....

I’ve been trying my best to stick with a one in/one out kind of philosophy with my pedal lineup (not always successfully), so I find sometimes I’ve sold or traded something I like for something I really want, and then end up wanting the original pedal back. I think some of these I sold when saving for the blooper. Ended up selling the blooper and bringing some of these ones back. I forgot, I’ve had two DOD Rubbernecks too. First one I had preordered, and while waiting ended up with a meet Maude, so when I got the rubberneck I sold it straight away. Then I sold the meet Maude and found a killer deal on another rubberneck. Still have it, and I don’t think it’s going anywhere.

Yeah I used to do the in/out thing. I have regrets from that period

In terms of stuff I have got back though:

TAFM - bought first one, ended up selling it to a friend (who still has it). A few years later bought a new one, still have it no regrets.

EQD Disaster Transport Jr - had my first one for ages and found it about perfect. Did the one in/one out thing and it ended up going, then I did a mini delay quest and ended up getting another about 5 years later. Ended up selling the 2nd one though

Digitech Whammy - got my first one as a teen who liked RATM and Muse a whole lot :whateva: had my squealy fun then sold it. Eventually bought another nearly a decade later, and then swapped that only to get a ricochet instead which is a lot more pedalboard friendly. Still have that.

Fuzzhugger Arc Flash - had one back in the dayyyyyy then sold it for ... reasons of some sort. Many years later when Tom was offering discounts for... donating to something? I don't even remember, I asked if he'd do a one off Arc Flash and I am keeping this one for sure!

Infanem Compact Faye Sing - had one, sold it for stupid nonsense reasons. Went on a hunt and paid possibly more than I needed to spend on a phaser last year to grab another  cold dead hands this time.

Had a PS-2, got a GB24, flipped the PS-2 then flipped the GB24 and bought another PS-2 that I flipped and then got another GB24.

I'm also on my second Wolf Computer, and kinda want a Suneater again.

This is gonna be a bad one haha. I trade a lot for stuff that I feel is harder to find and I often get rid of stuff if I don't click with in the first few days. Then, later I see someone use it in ways I didn't and I get GAS for it all over again. With that being said here is an embarrassing list of pedals I've owned more than once.
:picard:
- Volante - Traded it away and bought it again after regretting getting rid of it.
- In limbo III - Traded, bought, sold and then traded for again and eventually sold. (gone)
- Model Fet - Sold my V1 version then a few years later got a newer version.
- CT5 - Sold, bought, traded, bought and bought
- Supercollider - Gave it to a homie then missed it a few years later and grabbed the new smaller version.
- Fabrikat -Sold, bought, traded then bought again.
- Stammen - Bought and sold a few versions after it was upgraded. (gone)
Mood- Traded original color for the black one.
Outward - Sold V1 and bought V2 then sold it again. (gone)
Draume - Sometimes a random person will hit you up on IG and offer you a stupid amount for a pedal so you sell it only to buy it again when its available.

1. Rubberneck. Got one, didn't jibe with it, sold it, time passed, got another one for cheap, didn't jibe with it, sold it.
2. Mercury 7. Loved it, got bored with it, traded for a Ventris, didn't love the Ventris, traded for another M7.
3. DD-20. I currently own two. #1 has been in the shop for five weeks or so but while high I read about the possibilities of feeding two DD-20s into each other, so it seemed like a good idea to get another. Good thing too, because #1 is possibly dead (see my post elsewhere about this).

In addition, I will probably own another Afterneath at some point. Oh, and my BF-2 may be lost in the mail en route to Kinnatone, so I expect I'll be picking up another sometime soon.

i bought the exact same Truly Beautiful Disaster Dark twice. sold it to Starving Musician in Santa Cruz c.2011, bought it back sometime around 2013. still never use it, but i'm too lazy to sell stuff on Reverb. i also had two Marshall Guv'nor 2 overdrives, and wish i'd kept them.

Rubberneck: bought/sold/bought and now it's laying there as backup or for the secondary board (?? :erm:  )
Particle 2: bought/sold/bought/sold it's cool but I'm tired of granular stuff
Fabrikat: same as above
Tensor: bought and sold al least 3 times, the last one to upgrade it to the latest revision, then sold it a month ago. Might get it again next year or so. :idk:
Count to 5: bought ages ago (no quantize switch)/sold/bought the upgraded version a few years back, and it's staying.
Bitquest: bought/bought a second one/sold/sold the first one too but only to buy it again with a different graphic. I ALWAYS have one of these on board, It's not going anywhere.
DBA Apocalypse: bought and sold 2 times. Versatile but I prefer to stack multiple dirt than having 1 pedal with 5 different choices.
