Flanger Hoax, is it really that awesome?
Hello again
New guy and I've already started two topics. Shizzle...
Anyway, thinking about the Eh Mem Man w/Hazarai esp after reading Aen's review. Also thinking about a Flanger Hoax, but haven't found a review of it on this board. Actually, typing flnager haix review in the search is what got me to the MM/H review. And then the page for Dwarfcraft, etc.
The internet is great....
I know they're different pedals btw, I just want a good Digital Delay and a good modulator
Thanks!

Awesome, thanks. I'm going to have to buy this guy's shit next. Starting with the Power Soak. Wish they sold them in NYC and I'd buy one now....

If you have the blend knob up, you get an outrageous volume drop.

Here's my stance on the FH.
If you are a studio experimenter/ bedroom tweaker, or utilize chaos live, and can roll with brand new sounds as they happen, it's great. It's greater if you can nab one used.
It doesn't actually do the best "classic flange" IMO, but the noises are amazing. I can't think of anything with sounds like it, or such a splendid variety. I miss mine. I've had at least two of them, and flipped them in hard times. When I get caught up a little, I'll probably go for one again.

Yes it is. You should have fun tweaking it.

As Aen said, it is a tweaker's dream. One thing I will say is that you really have to spend a lot of time with it to figure out what all of the knobs actually do, and how to dial in the sound exactly like you want. And I mean hours and hours and hours of time. But once you get it, you can dial in absolutely any kind of phaser or flanger tone you want. When you put a rich distortion/fuzz through it, you can get one of the most badass through-zero SWOOSHes I have ever heard.

I'll sell you mine for $500 when they go out of production.

Which might be sooner that later as the regular shops that stock EH in NYC aren't reordering them. The guy at Main Drag said it took him about a year to sell two of them and they won't be getting anymore in to stock. Ludlow hasn't got them either.
Yeah, I'm a tweaker so I grabbed one to bring back home. This one seems like a classic in the making, un appreciated in its day, sought after later.

Cool video of the noise capabilities. I think I'm gonna have to order one of these beauties.

Yes, it is really that awesome. I GASed for one for about two years before I caved and bought it, now it's one of my absolute favourite pedals.
The only real downside is that it's very noisy on a lot of settings (analogue hiss) but if you can deal with that you're in for some fun. It's the ultimate tweaker's pedal.
