Guys, an Alesis BassFX has recently crossed my path. As someone who has struggled to bring even a couple of not-particularly innovative effects to market I've long been fascinated by Alesis' energy and preparedness to go off-piste -- this is the company that brought us high-profile oddballs like the AirSynth, after all.
The BassFX doesn't look too exciting, being yer basic 12-bit (I'm guessing) multiFX with lots of nasty cabsim and digital fuzz options. People who played it ten years ago seemed to hate it. But a read of the manual and a listen on YouTube reveals interesting niche capabilities -- an autoswell, a not-bad reverse reverb and a bitcrusher that seems to share genetics with the much-fancied Bitrman, with some options for expression pedal control.
Anyone got hands-on?
