on/on 2pdt switches?

Post by repoman »

I have some cool push button 2pdts that I want to use in a guitar, an issue I have is that they are On/On, will these work if I want to do some wiring like a Jaguar switch setup (sans rhythm switching), do the switches need to be On/Off?

Assuming that you want to use these as pickup on/off switches, I think that should be doable. If your switches are like the one in the upper left in this diagram, you can wire the hot and ground from each pickup to the center lugs. Then wire one set of the outer lugs out to the volume and tone part of your circuit, and the other outer set of lugs should just go to ground.

Let me know if you have any questions.

"on" only matters in center off or center on switches. If your switch only has two throws then you can wire them however you like.
