Delay query; part-serious...
...uh, has anyone out there stacked two Danelectro Backtalks? If so, what were the results? NP.

I only have one Backtalk, but once upon a time I chained all of my reverse delays so I could compare them. I did try having all of them on at once, but the results were just an indecipherable mishmash of things going backwards and forwards.

I often used multiple instances of a 100% wet backwards delay algo on my pod together while making a record a couple years ago. It confuses the processor and like Tall Walls said, you get a crazy, time-addled mishmash. A+ would recommend.

The Playstation didn't have Mode 7, that was the SNES!VREEEEVROOOOOW wrote:Get three PS-3s set to mode 7.
But the 7th mode of the BOSS PS-3 is indeed cool. I like it for faux cello sounds.

Simon the Magpie did a video on chaining reverse delays, I think.

Thanks, guys, esp. Jirod. Here's that Simon Magpie link:

His demo was less interesting than I'd expected. I was expecting more degradation -- it sounded like the digital delay allowed pretty much complete restoration of the signal. But I'm still interested to hear what happens if you set the two delays to different times.
I will mention in passing that my favourite delay experiment of the last six months was feeding a Pearl AD-08 into a DBX compressor. Infinite repeats, but also this kind of airbrushed neon spandex sound quality that put me in mind of Lennon's early post-Beatles recordings. It sent me off to check out the Palmer Timepressor, an obscure and great-sounding combo pedal that even has a little button to flip the order (delay=>compressor / compressor=>delay).
Best, NP

One octave down is essential. Turning down the tone knob of the guitar helps as well. It's kind of tricky, but quite rewarding.

Re: Delay query; part-serious...
I don't have a backtalk anymore but my avalanche run and minim both in reverse does some weird shit. When I trigger the double speed and octaves it sounds like what I assume stars crashing and uncrashing into each other sound like...uhh galactic?
