Off to a great start!

I have no idea who woolywort is, but Alex is the vocalist of Fight Fair and Seeing Means More and Ghost Spirit and a bunch of skramz. He's also the guy who coined the term "skramz". He's also my #1 skramz homie. Much respect.

Re: REal Screamo/Skramz!
that's cool, i just knew the funny. never really been big on screamo. I like Jeromes Dream and Pg.99 cause they are noisy and thrashy. City of Caterpillar are cool too but they are so proggy

I'm kind of an obscuremo savant of sorts.

Check out this band. One of my favourites.

I've heard about haikus about cannibalism before but never listened to them. Not sure it's my thing tbh.

Re: REal Screamo/Skramz!
I don't think you need to be a savant to have heard most, if not all the classic screamo bands and then some. As long as you have an interest in it and time to waste, it's all been on soulseek and various mp3 blogs for a while now.
I do have an autism diagnosis but that doesn't make me super smart or dictate that I like this particular thing.
iwrotehaikus.. are great, I have their discography LP.

Re: REal Screamo/Skramz!
I love it when bands can put their discog on an LP. That's hardcore!
What are the classic bands even? I have no sense of chronology when it comes to this. Orchid and stuff was like a second wave right?
Were Tim and Eric in a classic band or are they hidden gems

Re: REal Screamo/Skramz!
Eric was in Elements of Need. They're too obscure to be classics.
Protoskramz is like Heroin, Antioch Arrow, Honeywell, Reach Out, Indian Summer, Clikatat Ikatowi, Portraits of Past, Mohinder, Angel Hair, Swing Kids, Palatka, Anomie...
But mostly we just called that stuff emo. "Skramz" was the late 90s/early 00s stuff like Jeromes Dream, Orchid, Pg. 99, Usurp Synapse, Funeral Diner, City of Caterpillar, Saetia, Sinking Steps...Rising Eyes, I Have Dreams, In/Humanity, Jenny Piccolo, One Eyed God Prophecy, Cold Like December, Neil Perry, The Spectacle, Raein, Daïtro, Die, Emperor! Die!, Sailboats, Loma Prieta, The Spirit of Versailles, The Kodan Armada, Love Like...Electrocution, Life is A Fight... and so on to eternity.
Seeing as how pretty much everyone agreed that this is the best skramz track of all time, it doesn't get more classic than this:

Re: REal Screamo/Skramz!
Sort of apropos: Vulture Culture, named for a level in Donkey Kong Country, are one of the best emo bands of all time. They only put out a four tracks cassette, and it blows my mind every time I put it on to this day. It's like The Cure meets Mineral meets Armor for Sleep meets Christie Front Drive meets just the tiniest sprinkle of idk Converge or summat.
