LOL. your threads make me want to revisit my gearwishlists from 2007. anyway. i remember wanting the Medusa, which is esstentially the Mochika w/o MIDI or something i guess. i really like the design of these sequencers though. plexi-glass. handmade from Peru. i still wouldn't mind having one. i cream every time i see one in a set-up (which is rare...) but i think i'd probably be better off just getting a Korg EM-1 for cheap on ebay or try saving up a couple hundo & trying to score a Quasimidi Raveolution 309.
i don't really see them as "boutique" synths per se. & they are really well-designed and affordable, which the latter i cannot alwayz say is true for "boutique" gear.
So here's some shite that I just recorded with a crappy camera just to hold you over for the month until yours arrives from Peru. This video in no way shows the capability of the Mochika2. I also used a Copilot FX Antenna (the brassy sound) and for all those boutique snobs, a Behringer VD400 delay with the intensity knob set at max (you can tell from about 2:30 on). Mostly, it is very dark and doesn't show anything - except at 4:33 - a very dark image of the person in the room with me.
Awesome vid! Thanks so much. I love the drone sounds when you sped it up into hyper drive. Haha. I really hope it doesn't take a month. It said it ships within 10 days (crosses fingers). I'm an impatient bugger though the Mochika seems like its definitely worth the wait.

I ordered mine on the 30th of July. I received it on August 21st. If you read Alfredo's feedback, you'll see that almost half of the people that order them leave some type of hit about the length of time for shipping. That "10 day shipping" thing I've deduced is really just there for looks!
Anyway, enjoy it. It's a very fun device.
I am, however, thinking about selling mine on the cheaps to replace it with a little four step sequencer...
