Filthy reverbs?

Post by Snufkino »

Reverb into dirt is magic. But is reverb with inbuilt dirt also magic?

Off the top of my head I can only think of the Death By Audio Reverberation Machine, but I stumbled across the AC Noises AMA Reverb, which seems interesting.

What's your favourite flavour? Either a weird-ass reverb or a combo of seperate verb and dirt pedals. :snax:

My favorite effect. Industrialectric RM1N is by far my favorite of the all in one variety. Currently have an EAE Beholder and Caroline Meteore as well.

I like using the FUZZ side of the BitQuest! in Reverb mode. Fun stuff.

I used it at the 11-second mark in this animation to create a swooshing sizzle:

Other, more mangled applications, are possible. Is it filthy enough? Depends on application, I guess.

If you've got five minutes, I think these threads covered this fairly extensively--

viewtopic.php?f=149&t=62751

viewtopic.php?f=149&t=58058

(dirty and or self-oscillating)

Paradox Arquitecto
Keeley Gold Star
Industrialectric RM-1N
AC Noises AMA
SolidGoldFX Counter Current
Catalinbread Adineko
et cetera...

higher-end reverbs recommended by the board:
Mercury7
Space
Atmosphere

I still lean on an Empress in the lo-fi settings. The Dark World doesn't have dedicated drive, but it can do fairly gritty textures. It's better at delivering more feral sounds than nearly anything else I've personally used.

Here are some recent releases:

Pinebox Sirens (lo-fi modulator for pairing with delay/reverb)
KMA Cirrus (delay/reverb combo box for ambient stuff, not necessarily lo-fi or nasty)

Also, the MOOD can do a lot of atmospheric stuff in reverb-esque territory, even when you're using one of the 5 modes that isn't Reverb.

Eventide Mangledverb, or rather its MultiStomp equivalent.

Oceans 11 Spring (which I adore) has a preamp component but TBH it's so subtle that I barely notice it.

Form2/reform has a great distorted reverb algo. It's my favorite one besides the rm-1n.

I agree with this 100%!

The Rm1n is also a great filthy reverb as mentioned by several others in this thread.

Also a big fan of the atmosphere because you can tweak so many great sounds out of it. From dirty to ultra clean to completely crazy, it's very well rounded.
