Fuzz that sound good/huge through loud amps
I’ve often found a fuzz will sound great at semi low volume but the character and tonal range doesn’t translate well to louder volumes. And by that I mean 100w head through 4x12.
Often all the low end of the amp is lost or the volume output of the fuzz is inadequate. Rolling the fuzz/gain back and increasing the volume doesn’t help, the fuzz sounds sometimes quieter than the bypass signal.
Could be my amp - Fryette Sig: x - but I’ve experienced it with other amps as well.
What are some fuzz circuits you think translate well at loud volumes?

In general I'd look at Dunwich and Abominable pedals. They're made with this in mind probably more than most.

Anything with a serious mid scoop, which is most fuzzes, is going to sound muddy and disappear in the mix. A bunch of the classic fuzz circuits also have max volume below unity. This includes some tone benders, FY6, etc...
A muff with a flat or boosted mids tone stack can be good. Ragged distortions like old Boss circuits can also sound fuzzy at high volumes depending on amp and pedal settings.

Fuzzhugger Absynth (Sonic Shroom) is loud AF through everything at 9 o clock, in rehearsal and live. Conversely, the FH Algal Bloom is at 1 o'clock unity in rehearsal but has to be cranked live and I still have to push. So, Sonic Shroom?

Fuzz Face into four-input Marshall stack has something of a pedigree.

Pretty much everything by black arts toneworks is designed to be blasted through a really loud amp. My main thing recently has been a revelation super bass. I play a full stack with a 100 watt Marshall 2203. I also have a tall font muff that sounds better the louder you play. I like to stack another in front of it with an eq that lets me crisp up the kids a bit. Formally an ocd. Currently a bone shaker. I’ve had a few other BAT pedals over the years. All sounded great loud. EQD hoof is killer too.

The Death By Audio Fuzz War has been, for me, the most impressive fuzz pedal through my cranked Sunn, Vox, and Orange amps.

Re: Fuzz that sound good/huge through loud amps
Yeah, extremely loud volumes can be tricky on fuzz pedals that sound fine at medium voIumes. Sometimes stacking with an eq pedal or booster can help. I agree that scooped mids are your enemy. As far as muffs go, I tried a dozen or so different ones, and never been impressed with any of the mid controls and other switches and mods that are supposed to help the old 'drowning in the mix' issue.
You're always losing SOMETHING in yer frequency spectrum when distorting a guitar signal, I guess the trade-off is about sounding fuzzy enough without getting lost in a loud mix.
My current favorites: Clusterfuzz in the FET setting, and ofcourse my trusty FZ-2. So I'll echo what others said: Something similar with good tonebender or superfuzz/beebaa pedigree might be worth checking out.
