What is wrong with the Vox AC15C1 amp?

Post by hangwire »

It seems these amps are everywhere used for $400-475 and wondering if there is a reason why that someone here can clue me in on. Bad for gigging? Not enough power? Was looking at down grading from my Twin Reverb and when looking was just noticing how many of these I kept seeing even though a quick demo had me thinking about one.

The AC15C1 I had was my favorite amp ever. They are under $700 new so there are a lot of them out there and prices of 350-450 are pretty reasonable for a used amp that is that inexpensive. They are quite loud, but you won't get a lot of clean head room out of them. They are on the heavy side for a 12" 15w combo at around 48 pounds. The reverb is no where near as good as Fender reverb, but the tremolo is much nicer than I've heard on any Fender.
