My son and I have finally finished our latest album Autumn Melody... yes it's a bit late for Autumn (for Fall for those of you of a North American persuasion), so let's see it as a celebration of what we have lost - a sonic memory if you will. Or just my inability to maintain a work/life balance and finish it earlier. You choose.
Anyway this album is even more gentle and genteel than the last, and thoroughly abuses the EHX Mel 9 pedal in all its glory... on every track. We hope you like flute / cello and drone compositions as much as we do
Now that sounds promising I've got the same - once I've got through the family stuff at Christmas I will be recording / mixing a lot, and also hopefully fixing some broken reverb pedals... I hope you get the productivity you wish
Thanks Chank, the gentle mood is due to me mostly being too fried after work to do anything really noisy/fast/heavy and just wanting to do something calmer... my son (who has far too much energy!) still wants to rock out, so we finished a 'rock' tune today to make up for the lack of rock in the last album
I think every track we play is a compromise between me making weird and random noises and my son doing his very best to make what he thinks rock music sounds like (or should sound like)... it's a musical battle a lot of the time! I think he would agree that his rock has been compromised ...and our music is now comprised of a mixture of the sounds we both want to make. I think the end result is definitely different; neither of us would make these sounds if we played solo. Maybe collaboration is a better term? We haven't (yet) had any rock n roll arguments that have resulted in smashed equipment and broken egos!
