New Sunburned Hand of the Man/General HM Discussion

Post by D.o.S. »

As fresh as yesterday's hot biscuits. Anyone else aware of/digging this record?

Winter was long, cold and rough in Western Massachusetts so we turned our practice space into a Wednesday-Night Guantanamo. Other bands would see us roll up in the van and get visibly bummed that their indie-rock or mellow alt-country rehearsals were about to be annihilated. One guy even asked one of our members if we could turn down the "low end" which most likely meant the 2 hours of screaming about the DMT ANIMAL, because there was no bass guitar that night... There was a story going around the net that day stating that Johns Hopkins University was conducting a study and wanted to meet with anyone who had seen the DMT creature or alien. It made for an intriguing subject.

Get Wet With The Alien was recorded entirely at our practice space in Easthampton, MA. These Holy Grail fueled recordings are a mix of iphone and zoom recordings run through garageband, reaper and some plug-ins. We're still working on the much more listener-friendly Black Dirt session but its taking too long so in the meantime here's this. Enjoy.

Artwork by Greta Svalberg. Hand logo by Phil Franklin. Edited by John Moloney and some mastering done by Jeremy Pisani.

The cop on the cover is Boston's current police commisioner William T. Evans, who has the most immaculate Boston accent, check it out, and very well may be the Alien himself.

o0o0o0o I'll have to check this out! is this their 11,723rd release?

William Evans is amazing, I love when he comes on the news. I'm pretty sure he subsists on Parliament Lights, coffee and coke classic.
