Well first off it's run by Brad from Fu Manchu so that gives CF a big + in my book already.

I've got a doomidrive...this is one unique pedal. It's an od/boost, but I use that term loosely.
It won't sound like anything you've heard before (unless you've got an origial unidrive, and then you're missing out on the bottom control Brad adds)

It can be a very old school overdrive, but crank the drive and the bottom knobs and you get a massive "boost" for your dirt pedals.
Throw doomidrive at the end of your signal chain and everything will sound HUGE. "Lots of volume on tap blahblah"

While you can use it on a clean amp for some classic sounds, it loves to get dirty...turn up that amp gain and bring back your master volume a bit.
It adds a"fuzzy" character to your dirty channel, resulting in a sorta hybrid amp distortion/fuzz.
It's kinda like a treble booster I guess, but it's not a treble booster.
There are some that call me...morningstaru?

I've got a Creepyfingers "Ed Mundell's Infinity Fuzz"

It's a fuzz he built for Ed Mundell (guitarist for Monster Magnet). However, I'm using it with my bass and it could use some more low-end.

Other than that it's a great pedal. It reacts greatly on my bass' volume knobs. So I can make it go from a dirty sound to full on fuzz with hours of sustain into a sputtering dying fuzz. I haven't had the chance to spend alot of time with it yet but so far it's pretty cool.

Maybe I should put a DE Dark Boost infront of it to add some low-end though.
You just need a passive bass, a tube amp, and a metric ton of marijuana and Sabbath worship.

Lower the value of the Input and output caps if you can solder, that should suit it more to bass.

Throw the Dark Boost behind, you’ll keep the texture of the fuzz in front and add all the low end.

here's a list of his offerings and what they're based around.

Sugarboost (single stage germanium full/treble boost with NOS 60's transistors)
Creepyface (fuzz face style, NOS 60's military germanium with switchable internal/external bias)
Pink Elephant (improved high output version of Ampeg Scrambler, great on bass)
Fuzznugget (Maestro Fz-1a with original transistor type and switchable frequency range)
Fuzzfight (Germanium version Mosrite Fuzzrite with original transistor types)
Doomidrive (version of the Univox Uni-drive with original OEM transistors and bottom control)
Harakiri Fuzz (version of Univox Superfuzz with original OEM transistors and tone blend)

great guy, great work.

Can someone educate on me on this point to point construction stuff? All I know is the point to point pedal versions cost $50 more!

That's all you need to know... nothing else to it other than being more expensive in a pedal... in an amp, well that's a better construction, in an pedal... you paid $50 for some wasted extra work.

I think they just skip using a PCB, and wire everything together in one big mess. It supposedly makes you sound better. I'd love to hear them A/B it with the same pedal using a circuit board.

It does skip using an PCB correct, it is wired by hand, with solder connecting each component to each other, the way it used to be done in the 60's and even A/Bing will not give a clear definition as the different tollerances of components (especially when using Original Germanium transistors which vary hugely) mean that no 2 even modern production pedals are likely to sound exact, unless extreme care was taken in production to match every component which really isn't worth it to the producer as it'll sound simmilar enough and I don't think has ever been done.

Buy 2 of the same brand new model Big Muff pedals, that has been in a ridiculous amound of incarnations and is well loved, try them together at the same settings and they probably wont sound exactly the same.

There is no magic in it, it will not make the pedal sound better it is just Mojo that people will pay for (although at more work to him so if the customer wants it) Ibanez have just released a Turret board hand wired Tube Screamer... does it sound any better? No it sounds like a tube screamer that costs alot.

His use of vintage carbon composition resistors is also mojo, they will add no tonal benefit and due to there age, will have drifted in value and therefore could help to unbias the pedal and will also will add noise.

Vintage capacitors though, which he sadly does not use, can change the tone of a pedal (Not old electrolytics, they should not be used)

However, after that, I wish the man the best of luck and I still like mojo even knowing these facts, they add a bit of spice to a pedal and look alot nicer, but that may be as I build myself and don't have to pay the extra $50.
