Carbon Copy Delay Time Expression Mod

Post by CBA »

Hey there.

Anyone ever cram an expression mod in a Carbon Copy for Delay time? I don't need a lot of extra features for delay, so I dig the simplicity:sounds of the Carbon Copy... but it would be neat to mess with delay time via an expression pedal.

Uhhhh I guess that's all I have to say.

Yyyyyyeah, but's got a lot of stuff I'm not interested in. Plus I've tried the Rubberneck and if I'm going "deluxe" I'll do that. I see that the smaller Moog Delay has the function I'm looking for but I wish it had modulation.

Yeah, the CCD seems to have been an upgrade primarily for the tap tempo (pretty complicated, it seems), but you should be able to fit an EXP in the battery compartment (EXP experts, please chime in!).

Also I thought about the Seymour Duncan Vapor Trail (same price point as a CC right now, has external mod controls), but it has a wet insert, so you'd only be able to control the volume of the delay signal via expression.

Good luck & happy drilling! :joy:

Interesting... I recently had a non-functioning Carbon Copy here to look at. It did not pass sound at all when on, and I did not end up figuring it out. From what I could see one of the maaany SMD components (a capacitor) looked rough, but I didn't find a schematic (except for on the old Analog Delay) or have the tools to measure it (some opamps on the top side of the PCB had some sketchy soldering too).. but whatever, it's now off to MXR for servicing.

I have some LDRs incoming, might try to mess with those in a delay circuit then, but alas I don't think it'll be a CC.
