It's uglier than it looked in previous pictures. Features are pretty great though. Bit disappointed it's more aimed at tabletop stuff more than floor things but I'll probably pick one up to see how it goes.

Damn, I was hoping this would be a suitable Rang killer. I love mine but if it ever shit the bed it won't be easy to replace. I know they sold the company last year but I don't think anything is going to come of it.
Edit: apparently they are taking pre-orders on their site. Time to get a Side Car FINALLY!

Well that's shit if there's no way around it. Seems like the type of thing a firmware update could fix though.
Maybe, but it seems like EHX has been committed to fixed loop length for a while now [45000, 22500, 2880(?)]. I suspect that it would not be minor for them to change it. I don't understand how a complex looper like this is programmed, but perhaps EHX made a compromise in their programming/hardware architecture and cannot get around it. It is not even possible to multiply the loop (*track* in EHX's terms) lengths, as far as I can tell, so there's no reason to think it would be easy to change the programming to have multiple unquantized loops/tracks.
That's all speculation, obviously.
The 22500 actually allows you to have the two tracks as either multiples of each other (set number or free) or completely unsynced. That's one of the features that made me buy it.
I'm surprised that the new one doesn't allow that, but if it's the case it's also saving me $550
You wouldn't believe the rollercoaster of emotion I went thru in the 30 minutes between watching that video and reading the lack of individual time'd loops in the manual.
Nothing's beat the Rang yet, but I'm super curious about the RC-505 - seems like it could be a monster, but literally every piece of media about it is done by beatboxers
It's about that time when Boss bring out another looper really. It's been a while since the RC30 and I really wouldn't be surprised to see a looper in the 500 format, which I would be 100% for.
