Attenuator for my OR15

Post by JTurbide »

So, I just bought a cab for my OR15, the thing (even on 7W) is really loud for my apartment. So I was thinking about getting an attenuator.

The JHS little black amp box is really cheap so it may be a good option BUT.. The OR15 has a Buffered/Valve FX Loop.
Would the JHS work with this kind of FX loop or would it blow up ? I've also seen the Weber MicroMass but it's a little more expensive an is only for 15W or less amp, so if I get another head it might not be good for it.

Any other cheap options ?

A) The JHS is a ripoff.
It's $45 for a potentiometer and a couple of jacks.

B) A power soak would probably be a better choice.
Since I always forget:

If I'd seen this earlier, I would have told you to get the Mini Mass instead (50w) - it will still work on the little one.

My pedalboard costs approximately 191 Metal Zones.

Yeah this would have been a better choice but I'm on a really tight budget and don't see myself getting another head for a while so...

Just have to be patient on finding them.

I paid $50 or $60 for mine a couple years back.
