In any event, it sounds great and seems dynamic and lots of fun to tweak.

yes, close to that, but there will be no control for the tape length nor feedback due to the different hardware, only tape speed and looping

ever heard of chip swapping :-)
in general I agree to send a new chip with different patches but just once. I only charge for the shipping and price of an eeprom chip, about 10 bucks or so.
I don't do it more than once because those chip sockets were not made with constant chip swapping in mind and tend to get loose after a couple of swaps.
