ive tried this out before.... ruffly..and it worked, but im asking now since I have no hook up wire, two things...to make a contact mic should I use these, and If I wanted to hook a montotron to a 1/4 jack should I use these? would they work as well as regular hook up wire?

it will work fine.

the only thing with speaker wire is that the insulation melts very easily if you hit it with he soldering iron

I like using shielded cable for low voltage high Z stuff.
