They've been lost for a long time.

The no computer control..is mystifying.

It's been their thing for a while now though.

I would go back in time and abort Sam Kinison or whoever to stop this guy from making videos.

Oh, you've not seen him before?

He's obnoxious as all fuck, but I've seen a couple of things where he talks about recording techniques and he knows his shit.

He is awfully painful to watch, though, yes.

There are so many dudes on youtube that are just a cringefest to watch, but somehow I still watch them. It's not that I learn anything, it's just interesting in a weird way to watch annoying people. Like this guy, that steve guy with the glasses, scott grove and probably others

He seems alright on recording technique but perhaps it's YT compression, but frankly, I can't sniff enough cork even on half decent monitors to hear the differences he's obsessing over.

He has good points to make when he lets go of the angry-YT-rant bit that he started with.

Line6 can't even call themselves the kings of modelling practice amps anymore, fender roland vox do better ones for both bedroom and band. Unless they've somehow hung onto some metal cred (looks doubtful in that vid) I don't know why anyone would bother with a line6

Line6 exists because you can get it at the mom+pop shitstore that doesn't have a Fender or Marshall dealership.

And they have some modern classics to their name, too. DL4 comes to mind first.

I had a Line 6 amp that worked fantastic for a piece of shit. LOL. I set it out on our last big trash pick up day.

He owns a recording studio. This is his most famous engineering job https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O7NHS9wUmQQ

IDK about Youtube compression but to me, the differences between the Spyder II and Bias and the thing he's reviewing are super noticeable. Thin, buzzy and gutless.

The differences I can attribute to *what* the guy's playing as much as anything, how he transitions the cuts and lets the Bias sustain out...worlds of difference.

Having to adjust for that leaves it less than jump out awful, especially when he later compares the impulses from the DAW to the ones in the amp.
