NBD: '78 Grabber - Wine Red

Post by GAS KING »

Well, I've wanted a grabber for a very long time. In my previous life I had been a pretty big GAS whore. I've toned that down for quite a while. This has been my first gear purchase in a long time.

I really like it so far.

It's sorta like a tighter growly P bass. Sorta feels like P bass too.
The sliding pickup gives you a few shades of tone. From a little fatter and round to tighter and punchy.
Pretty straight forward for the most part.

I should check it on a scale, but it feels not too heavy. The body is thin, so that helps with the weight.

Just browsing around 8-9lbs seems to be common. Typical Jazz bass weight range.
That's the alder body/maple neck version.
I would guess the maple body/maple neck would be a little more.

Thicker than a Jazz bass, but not super thick either. So medium C similar to a P bass.

It came with D'Addario rounds, but I think I'm going to put some flats on it. It's a fairly bright bass. Dialing the tone back works fine too, but I've grown to love the flats on my P bass.
Maybe stainless flats! *idea*
