Where to start with Deerhoof?

Post by BitchPudding »

So far I've only heard the new thing they released called "Debut". I really dug it and wanna know whats the best album to start on. I know at least of few of you dudes are fans so I figured this would be the best place to ask!

I think Milk Man is a one of their best albums that really gets the the essence of what deerhoof is for me (probably just because it was my main introduction rather than any real reason but it's a great album). Debut is kinda different to a lot of their stuff, you might also want to try their last few albums, Breakup Song, La Isla Bonita. They have more of a well produced sound like Debut, a lot of the older albums are more raw.

Here's a couple of songs:

I'd start with The Runners Four and Friend Opportunity, and then listen chronologically from their first if you dig. Milk Man is good as well.
