Don't get me wrong... I love me some MBV as much as the next, but his pedal collection outnumbers his song catelog. :erm:

I've gotta see em live. Surely, he doesn't use each and every one of those. Surely. He. Does. Not.

Maybe it's that freedom of expression thing. He pushes what he likes, and each time is different. A friend saw em in Chicago and said it was OK, then saw em in Dallas and said it was uhhhmazin'.

Funny thing is if you listen to the albums closely, lots of his stuff is clean or just has a slight overdrive :wha?: He uses most of those pedals just for the armageddon You made me realise at the end... 40 minutes of noisee

He is always switching those on and off and changing settings during Realise. You have to be reallllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllly close to see him do that though.

I think he has a number of specific pedals in a chain for each song and has different chains for each song...so he can fine tune the sound he wants. for most of the set the pedals he uses are on top of his rack case and he switches the chains with a midi controller. For the YMMR noise section he uses the pedals at the front of the stage

you do have to see them live. I will continue to say this: Best show I've ever seen. I liked MBV before, but I loved 'em after. I'm seeing them again in less than a month :omg: :omg: :omg:

I don't see any devi-style enclosures where you seem to be pointing. But that's no sucka punch...that's a truly beautiful torn's peaker :omg: :bob:

Random question here: Why is everyone all of sudden calling the "Truly Beatiful" pedals "Truly OK" instead?

i don't know about the reunion shows, but i saw MBV in 92 and kevin's pedal hopping made no audible difference on his sound, it was just white noise no matter what.
yes it was the best show ever, just sayin...
