And pretty much every Cure album has a good cover. I'm a big fan of simple and somewhat delicate. Or if it has mountains. Well, any of natures landscape, I suppose.
Or just... "different".
Dude, a ball pit is not... weren't you ever a little kid? Ya know, a ball pit, with the plastic balls and you'd jump in it... it's not a gay bar!

wow, i like a lot of those!
I've never heard of/ don't recognize about half of them. I'm trying to reconcile what i like about vintage with what i like about modern and how they relate. here's a good blog about album covers that is not retro specific like the rest i posted earlier. it goes into a little more depth about each cover posted.

Yeah, I dunno... there's just something infinitely pleasing to me about pastels and earth-scape types of art like that. Anything that's well done in sort of a colored pencil/crayon style or watercolors, as well.
I just noticed that several of the covers I posted are apparently not there anymore. I'll just have to do another post later once I think of more that I dig (and re-up the ones whom have gone missing...).
I gotta take a look at that link, too.

+1 for aphex twin. I slept at my friend's place a week ago and woke up to that album cover staring me in the face...not the most pleasant thing to wake up to!

As far as weird Aphex Twin covers, I don't think it gets better than this one:

Here's one that's not exactly art, but it gets its point across:

You just need a passive bass, a tube amp, and a metric ton of marijuana and Sabbath worship.

Loveless is definitly one of the coolest..
There is an import Pink FLoyd cover that depicts the band infront of wht i presume is their tourvan. They have all their gear spread out in the road in a geometric fashion.I wasn't able to find it but that would be my vote as the best..
Here is some Red Crayola cover I kinda like. Not too fascianted by the album itself though
