Looking for right angle patch cables
Hey all,
I'm re-wiring my board (which feels like it's a never ending process), moving shit around and I'm looking for lower profile right angle 1/4" patch cables. No lava, or George L. I can't afford to pay attention at this point and they are PRICEY. I need affordable. What I have now is too bulky and tend to pop out. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I've been using these.
Can also buy the switch craft and solder some cables if you're handy with an iron

Far as I know any DIY option is pricey. I use Evidence Audio SIS, they are low profile and easy to make.
If the plugs tend to pop out you probably need to tighten up some clamps or something on the input/output jack inside the pedal(s) in question.

It's more that the plugs themselves have a really bulky outer coating so in tight spots like if I'm using my super ego with the effects loop the two plugs don't have any room and tend to pop one another out when i step on the pedal.

Yup, EHX isn't exactly known for quality jacks or switches... still, if the pedal moves at all when you step on it that can happen. And the send/returns on the SuperEgo are really tightly spaced. My buddy who has one uses those cheap coloured plastic patches. But I still would recommend the SIS, those will fit anywhere. Not cheap though.Confuzzled wrote:It's more that the plugs themselves have a really bulky outer coating so in tight spots like if I'm using my super ego with the effects loop the two plugs don't have any room and tend to pop one another out when i step on the pedal.

Not to speak for the OP, but I think he wanted something other than pancake plugs cuz they won't work with the FX loop on the SuperEgo?
Personally I think pancake plugs are the coolest and regret not wiring my board with that from the get go.

I never understand what human beings are trying to communicate, so I just chime in occasionally and hope that on some rare occurrence I've offered something modestly useful to the odd passerby.frodog wrote:Not to speak for the OP, but I think he wanted something other than pancake plugs cuz they won't work with the FX loop on the SuperEgo?

Second on the EBS recommendation. Cheap and have been plenty reliable for me so far, although I haven't been using mine for long. Only gripe is that there needs to be at least one more size between the longest and second longest.
If you're looking for low profile and don't wanna deal with the Lava/GeorgeL bullshit (good move), they're your best option.

My Mogami pancake connectors work fine on my Superego...just sayin. They are close but not THAT close. Only place I have trouble with the pancakes is on my Romferd.
All the pedals...the jolly, candy-like pedals...

Hey does anyone know where I can get some decent and semi flexible right angles that are at least 4 ft long?

It doesn't get any cheaper, and it certainly doesn't get any better. Nothing beats custom cables, cut to length and soldered to last.
