Happy Birthday casecandy

The influential post-hardcore band Thursday are back in action after a five-year hiatus. They'll headline Atlanta's Wrecking Ball Festival, taking place August 12-14. It's their first live performance since they split at the end of 2011. The lineup will consist of frontman Geoff Rickly, guitarists Tom Keeley and Steve Pedulla, bassist Tim Payne, drummer Tucker Rule, and keyboardist Andrew Everding. "Five years ago, we found it necessary to end Thursday for reasons beyond our control," Rickly said in a statement. "Earlier this year, we were able to reconcile all of our differences and spend time together. This is a vital component to what we loved about being in Thursday and we're happy to say that we'll be playing this show as the same line-up that began touring together on Full Collapse and jointly worked on every record since."

There are so many reuniting bands at Wrecking Ball, I might just go because fuck it why not.

Sort of bummed Knapsack didn't somehow make it on here though.

Noice! Regrettably, even if I could somehow make it to Atlanta, by August 12, I'll be needed back up north. So it's a no-go. But thanks for thinking of me! I'm happy they're back together. Thrice are getting back together with a rumoured new album, as well. And then there's At The Drive In... it's sort of a banner year for post-hardcore reunions.

Unpopular opinion: Geoff Rickley's singing is the best thing about the band.

I'm more of a fan of the first few albums but I don't dislike anything in their discog.

Actually, I didn't know it was out until you posted! Thanks for the tip. I just listened and I'm not that into it. It doesn't sound very Thrice and it's very modern rock, very polished. HOWEVER... If you had judged Vheissu by "Image of the Invisible," you'd be making a horribly preemptive mistake, so I'll withhold judgement until I hear it in context on the album. Albums are often way better than their singles; singles often grow on you once you hear the whole album.

So, you know me, by tomorrow I'll probably fucking loooooooooove it LOL

That tour with La Dispute though
