UK peeps: Nightliner/Sleeper bus help needed!

It seems like my band is going on a UK tour in the end of April/start of May.
We're currently looking for the cheapest nightliner/sleeper bus we can find,
but when I google this shit, the only thing I find is "super duper luxury high tech comfort mega bus for hire"-sites,
not the "this bus smells like piss and beer, has rats and the driver doesn't speak English" sites which is more suitable for our budget.

So does anyone here know a guy who knows a guy who knows a guy who has an old bus with bunks which he(or she!) rents out for bands that isn't Muse or Foo Fighters? Any help would be appreciated!

is there any particular reason why you need a sleeper bus rather than a van? Could it work out cheaper to do the van and crash at people's places or in cheap motels?

Just seems kinda excessive for touring around the UK. The drives aren't that long are they?

What sort of budget are you working to? What are the fees for the gigs like? In my experience, I wouldn't trust any driver/bus that wasn't part of a reputable company. My old band toured Europe in a bus, the cheapest we could find (which was still very expensive) and the guy they got for us was a nut bar. He stole from us and eventually got himself sacked by doing crazy shit and losing his mind, throwing an argumentative friend off the bus mid-tour (a member of a particularly famous band at the time, no less), treating us like shit, having loud phone sex first thing in the morning etc. etc. THAT is the cheap option when it comes to buses/drivers. These touring bus drivers aren't right in the head to begin with, you don't want the fucked up cheapy option. Saying that, It's the most fun you'll ever have in your life, but touring the UK in a bus is total overkill unless you're willing to pay for something decent. What venues are booked? Are they big places with room for a bus? Travelodges and a van and you'll be laughing/not going bankrupt.

We might rent a van instead, we're comparing expenses now.
If we go for a bus, we would be sharing it with another band though, not just us. 12 ppl in total.

But if we go for the van we still need to pay someone to drive, non of us is comfortable with driving on the wrong side of the road, find cheap motels/hostels and fuel expenses.

We got an offer from a company that seems legit which is 500£/day, 250£ for our half, and we can live with that. But we'll see.

When we tour Norway or Europe we use our own van, but we don't have time to have it transported to the UK in time of the tour.
