Any experience with Sweet Foot power supplies?

Post by fldrvr »

Saw some custom power supplies by a builder on Reverb going by Sweet Foot. Any one have any experiences with these they could share? Reason i'm asking is because the price and mA ratings seem right for my needs, just wondering if there si something I'm missing. I noticed that they don't mention isolation with toroidal transformers, which seems to be how most of the commercial PSUs achieve isolation.

Looking forward to comments, thanks!

Seems too cheap to be true. I don't know how he's isolating 8 outputs st 500ma each in that small of an enclosure so I don't believe it.

As I read the description of the new improved one, it seemed like 4 are fully isolated and the other 4 aren't. I assume that's what he's talking about with advanced filtering on 4 outputs? Or maybe that means they're more adjustable.

Yeah, it seems that he has different models, some with isolation in sections, and others he's claiming are fully isolated from each other.

How's MXR doing it with the Iso-Brick? Seems this may be a similar size (maybe smaller)?

I just went and looked and thought it's interesting that he doesn't provide gut shots.

Ask him for some gut shots.

"Your Power Brick comes with a thirty day replacement warranty." doesn't inspire much confidence.

If I'm going to blow a hundred+ on a dedicated supply, I'm not going to gamble a grand in pedals on it being a quality item and just go with a known quantity.

My pedalboard costs approximately 191 Metal Zones.

So I never heard back from the guy. Too bad, could be interesting to have purpose-built pedalboard power supplies; I know I struggled a bit to find the right one for my board (which wound up changing anyway).

I wound up with a Decibel 11 Hot Stone Deluxe. Thanks to everyone who commented!
