mustang bridge?

ive never played a mustang with a whammy bar so idk why people say its the best one out there
anyone care to explain why?
and also where can i buy either a mustang or JM trem system?
once i get my tele i wanna outfit it with either one of em

That's a brilliant idea! I wanted to put a trem on my tele but Bigsbys are blah from what I hear and there isn't really any other choice. Personally I like the Mustang bridge a little bit better than the JM but I love them both. I've always been interested in Bronco tremolos, so if anyone has had any experience, let me know.

i have to disagree about it being the best out there.

in my case, the bridge caused a lot of tuning problems... i finally got so fed up with it, i used washers so it would stop moving.

maybe others have had more luck than me. :idk:

the mustang trem has a smooth feel but goes completely out of tune instantly. putting one on a tele would look great though. bigsby's are fine and while they still have slight tuning problems, you can learn how to use it..like, how hard to wiggle without creating problems and being sure to give a final tug upwards after use. then they can behave themselves and play nice. but you'll still have to touch up tuning ever so often.
the tele bigby is a beast to put on (not as much as putting mustang bridge though) and because it's a flat top guitar it doesn't have the play normally found on bigsby's ...it's not bad but different.

Well the problem with the Tele Bigsby is not the trem action or the tuning, it's the tonal change. Bigsby's tend to make your tele darker sounding, and if you playing a telecaster your usually wanting something very bright.

i was only referring to the difference trems. naturally, putting a trem of any sort on a tele is going to change the sound. that's a given. and putting a mustang bridge on a tele will make a tele purist freak...which is why i think it's a good idea. :thumb:

Does it really matter? Fender calls them Trem bars.

YES...i know...i seem to never call it by the proper name : "vibrato"... :excellent:

i blame fender for putting "synchronized tremolo" on the headstock of my first favorite guitar.

at least no one is on this site referring to a guitar as a "nice piece" ... that drives me fukking crazy.

Bridge is separate from the tailpiece for both the Jazz/Jag and Mustang.

Hey they called tremolo on their amps vibrato.

I only wish I could sell my spare vibrato system & bridge for jag/jazz...I don't really need it,and now it's just sitting in the box.I'd call a mustang bridge a little limited,you can't really make any adjustment on it...but it sure beats the regular jag/jazz bridge...it's been on my jag for more than three years,but I keep thinking about the t-o-m bridge. :idk:

The vibrato system on a mustang is a smooth sounding one,but it does put the guitar out of tune if you overwork it.I was also thinking about building a tele (or jazzmaster) -shaped guitar with a jag/jazz bridge/vibrato system...

and then some stupid person saves up for a VB-2 and says it's shit because it sounds nothing like the vibrato channel on their grandpa's amp. :mad:
