So, I’ve been talking to Chris from JPTR FX recently and we came up with the idea of an ILF tourbox!
He does post on here, but not as much as I do, so it’ll be me to run this thing. (He justifies his low post count with being shy about his english. It can’t be for a lack of fuzzlove!)
It’s pretty much very open at the moment, Chris, as he puts it, wants to “keep it as punkrock as possible”. So there are no restrictions about where you come from or which of his pedals will be in it. I’ll just collect a bunch of names and we will make it work somehow.
He is pretty flooded with Xmas orders at the moment, so this will happen after the holiday season. Depending on which pedals are going to be in it, Jan 15th should be a realistic date to get the tourbox going.
So, his line consists of four standard pedals, the Gainsaw, Schwercraft Fuzz, Teslawolf OD and Feedback Fucker.
Gainsaw is a super simplistic over the top distortion. Only Knob is for voltage starve. Everything else is in Lemmy mode.
Schwercraft is a Fuzz that should appeal to everyone that loves large things. Large is heavy, is good! Think of Cheesecake or Smoked Porter - just like Fuzz they can’t be large enough.
Teslawolf is an OD, that can go pretty far into Fuzz territory if you push it hard enough. It also sports the largest output cap that can be found in Germany!
The Feedback Fucker is a run-of-the-mill feedback looper. The noisicians utility pedal, completely passive because you don't want to hog up your power supply with a Flooper!
All of them are original designs hand built and designed by him and his partner Rob. There are some limited run pedals they make too, I’ve been bugging Chris about the Anti-Wave which would be very appropriate for an ILF tourbox imo, but you guys can put down whatever you like.
Shit, I made it all sound like a sales pitch, didn’t I?
So, I take it all back! You guys should either want to try his pedals or you don’t, then do the hokey-pokey. If you do, please comment in this thread. If you already know what you want to try, please include that in the post. I’m doing this to get myself and you dudes to try out some cool pedals! I’m excited about this stuff, so I thought you should know about it!
Some things to keep in mind:
I’ll put a post limit of 200 on this. If you have less and still want in, message me and we’ll see what we can do.
You can keep the box for a week.
You should make a demo. Video is best, Audio is cool too, if you can’t make either, you shall endure eternal mockery!
Once we have a consolidated list, I will need to get your phone numbers and everything.
Here is a picture of the line-up to get your juices flowing (before the Gainsaw was released):
And the Gainsaw:
And a picture of Iggy Pop because Punk Rock:
"You see, what, what sounds to you like a big load of trashy old noise... is in fact... the brilliant music of a genius... myself."
Addenda:
Chris said y'all should like his FB page here. He's brewing up some new stuff (Synths, White Noise Generators, Standard Fuzz and a Lo-Fi looper based on a Chidren's Toy chip.. )
UPDATE: shoot me an Email! Participants already on the list or even if you are not but still want in! jptrfxtourbox2016@gmx.de
List:
(I'll keep US&EU separated for now but we'll probably do one world tour with this)
Update that totally deserves a new post for awesomeness:
There will be a special edition run of all four pedals for the Tourbox. One large blank enclosure engraved with "ILF tour 2016" and we get an edding (our version of a sharpie, I guess) with it so that everyone can sign on the pedal. When it returns it will be auctioned off for a good cause.
That deserves a cheer, I think!
Here is a box that goes for the same vibe:
Of course all the circuits still have their individual jacks that allow to change the order or include them in your setup in any given place.

Someone please send this to Billy every day until all his pent-up rage erupts, his head turns to actual chrome and he engages his final form: Ultimo-Corgon, where he finally starts to hate fuck every skyscraper in Japan demanding an explanation, weeping tears of mercury down on the innocent bystanders below while proclaiming to be the greatest musician of all time, including the future.
