anybody mess with Retro Mechanical Labs (RML)?

Post by Ruiner »

I know a bunch of people have the Electron Fuzz Custom (including myself). I really dig that one but curious if anyone has any of the other stuff he makes?

I just put in an order for the Jekyl and Hyde. Thing sounds and looks amazing. About to go over the different options with him for it before he starts. Gonna take about 90 days but that's ok.

Most likely going with a cream top and this kind of wood and stain:

What do you own that's RML? Do you like it? Any recommendations for my custom order... mods and such?

Yeah all his boxes are beautiful... can't decide on the cream or black top. A few wood choices too. He really customizes it to your liking when you do a custom order... all the way up to the meter.

duke is a member but I am not sure he browses here a lot. I will link the thread and tag him to make sure he comes over here and give you his full review on everything he owns.

I had one and would still have it if it wasn't so fucking big. It was their standard pedal? I can't remember what it's called. Shit sounded glorious is all I know!

Hey guys,

I have the electron fuzz(thx jwar) the 432k, the mig fuzz and the pedal and a gun.
The migg is an absolute dream muffvstyle fuzz........
The electron is very unique and a keeper for sure.
I just got the pedal ND a gun and haven't used it yet, but

The 432k is the best distortion/fuzz I own, and I own a lot..... I'll see if I can gt a demo this weekend

I have followed RML for quite awhile. I recently picked up an electron. I have always been curious about his other stuff, especially the 432k and J&H.
Excellent Transactions: monkeydancer, dorfmeister, Rygot, bronzetalon, PumpkinPieces, Wes Mantooth, Deltaphoenix, Blooghost, Fuzz_Pi, Neanderthal Head, lordgalvar

I have the small box Electron and love it. It is a killer fuzz that just gets so LOUD.

Definitely amazing stuff, but the big box stuff really is huge from the pics I have seen of Duke's boards.

Wow! That's an awesome assortment of RML. Ever since i got the standard RML Electron Fuzz i've been really interested in his other stuff. Now that i own a synth too i decided to go for the Jekyl and Hyde.

Would definitely love to hear a demo of your 432k!

I don't mind the size since it'll be for home recording. Can't wait to get it! :omg:

Got their custom and love that tremolo effect. Also have one of their muff clones, not sure what its called but its in one of their beautiful wood enclosure and uses mojo parts, has some nice mods like tone bypass. Great sounding pedals for sure. Love the aesthetic.

Holy fudge that's a gorgeous pedal. What do you even do with all those knobs?! Twiddle 'em, naturally.

I have never heard one bad thing about this company. YouTube pedal demo hero Nick Casale swears by his Electron Fuzz. I have considered buying one of those before.

I mentally categorize them with Spacemen in a folder that reads, "Really Really Nice But Prolly Too $$$."

Like I mean, listen to this product description:
The Electron Fuzz “Custom” is an extremely high gain distortion. Seriously, normal volume setting is at about 10% of its full output potential. Two gain/tone controls “Hurt” and “Pain” give a variety of tone textures and a feedback noise loop can be adjusted to add a very gritty almost 8-bit sound or a squelching scream. (Great for droning or well crafted solos and recording). The extra stomp switch adds 2 more additional gain stages and a boost of high end to the sound. Best of all the distortion oscillates when notes are held adding a new level of expression.
You had me at "Normal volume is 10% of its output"
