Fender Showman ??

Post by frigid midget »

I need another amp like I need an asshole on my elbow. I'm fucking drowning in tube amps lately, and I don't even get around playing em as much as they deserve

Still though, ever since I finally realised that there's a classic fender amp out there that's basically a reverb-less Fender Twin in head form instead of combo...I've been lusting for one like I haven't lusted for an amp in a long time

So anyone here maybe using a mid '60s Showman with a 4x12 cab and a bunch of dirt pedals? I've got my eye on a local-ish deal, but being a vintage fender and all, the price is kinda higher than what I want to spend on an amp I don't really strictly need right now :idk:

That sounds like it might be fun. :idk:

I've got a Plush 1060-S (which's supposedly a Showman/Twin copy) that I play through a 2x15 cab. :idk:

Not sure if that helps, but it likes most dirt pedals. If you need a loud-ish amp, go for it. :poke:

I had a Dual Showman Reverb with Showman 2x15 cab and it was like the perfect pedal mothership. Insanely loud, headroom, killer looks. Can do anything from disco to doom. I sold it because it didn't fit in our band van and that's another reason I'm a bitter old man today ...

I once had a blonde double showman (2x15) and a blackface showman.
Insanely loud and clean. I'm surprised if showman heads are commanding premium prices as they are one of the lesser desired amps.

I've ran out of shit to flip, I wouldn't know how to fund/ justify yet another goddamn amp.

I'll mail the seller a low ball bid and ask him if he'll consider trading his amps for one of my kidneys :idk:
