Barber Trifecta?

Post by frigid midget »

A long time I decided for myself that this pedlol might be worth a try for me, just based on specs/reviews/demos. I've always had a love/hate relationship with big muffs, never been able to hold on to any of the muff type fuzz peds I bought.

The Trifecta doesn't seem to get a lot of mension in the many muff-related threads here though. Because Barber is more of a TGP brand? :idk:

It's kinda pricey, considering a hoof/supercollider/musket/swollenpickle as well as a bunch of other similar peds can be had for a lot less money :s

So what's the final verdict, am I deluting myself here? And the biggest question that's puzzling me: Are the different modes really as similar sounding as they are in the demos?? The tonebender abilities are part of the appeal to me, but I'm not really convinced by what I hear onlin :idk:

I think that's it.

Not saying you won't find people here who've tried it, but you'll find way more people with way more experience with the Trifecta on TGP.

See if you can borrow one from somebody or see if Stomp.Club has one you can rent?

I guess their prices and their somewhat 'conservative' pedals are what make Barber less of a ILF company.

No offence to anyone, but I couldn't care less about forum credibility or whatever. The price of a used Trifecta otoh, is kinda the main thing keeping me from just snagging one.

The price in Europe that is, I guess it's not that bad in the US. And since I'm not in the US, renting one from Stomp.Club isn't really an option.

Ah, that's right, I forgot you're in Europe.

Yeah, I don't care about what's popular on a certain forum either. I use whatever pedal works for whatever it is I want it to do. Barber is definitely too "conservative" for ILF. I'm just not that interested in most of his dirt offerings either practical as they might be for their intended applications.

It's definitely a gamble. Best bet would be to borrow one to try. Barring that, if you think you'll be able to sell it easily if you don't like it, the best way to tell is just to get one.
